The XF 8-16mm is a premium, wide aperture, ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that completes Fuji’s trinity of fast aperture zoom lenses (along with the Fuji 16-55mm F2.8 and 50-140mm F2.8 lenses). At nearly $2000 USD in price, the XF 8-16mm isn’t for everyone, but it does offer an extremely competent option for wedding, portrait, and event
Fujifilm's XF 16-55mm F2.8 is a weather-sealed zoom covering a 24-83mm equivalent range. With a fast F2.8 constant aperture, manual aperture control and a new Nano-GI coating to reduce flare, it's a high-end lens to be sure. Take a look at how it performs in the real world. See gallery
At 18mm, sharpness is excellent across the whole frame, only dropping off towards the edges and corners at f/2.8. Whole-frame sharpness is even better at 24mm, even when shooting wide-open. Center-sharpness remains excellent in the 35-50mm sector of the zoom range, although edge-sharpness drops off a bit. Fringing:
Thread resurrection, I realise, but I have found the same issue with an X-H1 and 16-55 f2.8. I had been routinely using back button focusing and with the recently-acquired 16-55, was noticing inaccurate focus on a regular basis. Eventually noticed that the focus problems seem to abate when using AF-S and Shutter AF ON. The 55-200mm ($699.00 at Amazon) measures 4.7 by 3 inches (HD), weighs about 1.3 pounds, and supports 62mm threaded filters. It does extend when zooming, nearly doubling in length at 200mm, but gKuV.
