JW1982. The 1.0 ECOboost has a vacuum operated wastegate that is powered by an engine driven vacuum pump and controlled by an electronic control valve. The wastegate itself can easily be checked by applying vacuum to the hose pillar of the wastegate (for example with a large syringe).

#1 · Aug 14, 2023 Hi, I have a solid brake pedal and had an oil light and engine management light on. I changed the vacuum pump valve and solenoid and pipe loom. dropped the oil, new filter and fresh oil. oil lights gone and engine management light is off but I’m thinking I need to change out the-vacuum pump.
