Nov 23, 2019. #1. Just got a 2020 KTM 300 XC-W TPI Transfer Port Injection. The manual says to use JASO FD synthetic reputable oil and recommend Motorex - Cross Power 2T which is about $18/quart. Is there options for a NON-premix 2T synthetic oil that is JASO FD rated that isn't $18/quart that people recommend? T.
Ud_Luz. 1.2L is about right. I just drain the oil, replace the filters, dump a bit over a quart in, start the bike, shut it off, top it until the oil is about halfway up on the sight glass. Never had an issue in over 30k on various RFS bikes. You're worrying a bit too much. ? The KTM 125 Duke is a compact sport motorcycle that, despite its sharp good looks and peppy engine, is oriented towards a lot of low-speed start/stop-work. Thus, the KTM 125 Duke has relatively short service intervals of 4650 miles or 7500 km, at which point you should change the oil and filter, change the air filter, and do a whole host of checks. I have an '08 300 XCW w/ a Rekluse Pro. I run Rotella T6 full synthetic in my tranny. I have never had a tranny issueever. I change it out after every 4 rides (rides usually constitute two 1.5 hour harescramble races and two multi-hour training rides which are glorified trail rides with multiple stops for suspension adjustments and talking with ride buddies.)
